We held a fabulous birthday party which lasted a whole week. Our friend, Tina, invited her whole family and some dear friends to help her celebrate altogether for her special birthday, here at Chateau Mareuil! The sun shone, the wine flowed, we had live music, swimming , barbecue, late nights and lots of fun......

Well, we appeared in every episode of the first week of "Escape to the Chateau - DIY", and we are glad to have come out of it looking reasonable sane and hopefully have showed off the lovely Chateau Mareuil to it's best advantage! We've had quite a flurry of interest and several bookings, so thanks to everyone for watching and enjoying; I was even recognised by a lovely lady, Lettie, and her daughter in Boots in Tonbridge at the weekend when I was back in Kent visiting family and friends.
Comments on social media have been complimentary, Chateau Mareuil is just a little bit different from many in others in that it is so very, very old....
Come and visit us soon......x

We are beyond excited!!!
Chateau Mareuil is to be featured in Series 2 of Channel 4's very popular "Escape to the Chateau - DIY".
Breaking News......broadcasting dates have just been announced, the series will start on Monday 18th February and be shown at 5pm every afternoon for 6 weeks, that's a whopping 30 episodes. We have been told that we'll definitely be appearing during the first week.
We've had to keep this fairly quiet for qute a while now as filming has been taking place for more than 6 months and is ongoing now.....you never know, we might become famous?

We have just launched our brand new event "Eat, Drink, Cook!", for 3 weekends in 2019. This will be a great opportunity to eat, drink, relax and maybe make new friends in the beautiful setting of Chateau Mareuil. There will also be a cookery course offered when guests will have the opportunity to learn how to make a 3 course dinner, which they will be eating themselves that same evening - so it'd better be good!

Lee and I watched the Christmas episode of "Escape to the Chateau" last night (we're in England at the moment), so inspiring with all of Angel's beautiful decorations and Dick'e mouthwatering food! It made us really homesick, we can't wait to be back at Chateau Mareuil.....

Our Christmas music recital on December 1st was a resounding success; we had a full and very enthusiastic house who enjoyed the uplifting and beautiful soprano voice of Sandra Florence, accompanied by Mike Fowler and later sang along enthusiastically to a range of well known and loved Christmas carols and songs. Mulled wine and hot canapes were followed by a delicious hot buffet of Creamy Pork in Cider with quince and accompaniments, Brioche & Butter pudding, Fruit Crumbles and Chocolate Cherry Cake.
When the crowds left, we held a private wine tasting with friends and family in the Chateau's atmospheric cellar!
On Monday 3rd December, Lee fixed the Donjon roof himself with another uplifting experience of using a Cherry Picker and Belinda held a day of cookery demonstrations and competitions in the Chateau Kitchen.
All of this was filmed for the Winter season 2019 of "Escape to the Chateau - DIY"

This is so exciting!!!
We are planning a lunchtime event on Deceber 1st from approx 12 -4 featuring some beautiful music; the lovely Sandra Florence will be singing accompanied by our very own Brigueillais pianist, Mike Fowler. There will be mulled wine and canapes, delicious hot lunch with dessert and mince pies and a charity sale of goods plus we may even sing a few early Christmas carols to launch the festive season. This will all take place in the chateau salon, so we are limited in numbers to 30. Price will be 25 Euros per head, which will include a charitable donation of 5 euros.
Our chosen charity this year is The Alice Foundation which was created to trap, neuter and release stray cats in the South Vienne/North Haute Vienne areas. Charity number W862002293 [email protected]
Please let us know if you would like us to reserve places for you and please tell your friends also.
If anyone has anything they are willing to donate to our charity sale, please let us know, ideally craft items, books - we are open to ideas!
